Thanks for your interest in auditioning for the Baltimore School for the Arts!
Baltimore School for the Arts will be holding the auditions on January 24-28, 2022 for the upcoming school year.
Please read carefully the information for each department concerning necessary preparation for the audition. There is a special instruction for the Visual Arts portfolio review. Students are selected based solely on the audition and interview. Baltimore School for the Arts does not consider recommendations or student records, nor are student records or recommendations consulted.
Current 8th and 9th grade students may audition in one or two art areas: Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal, Acting, Stage Design & Production, Visual Arts, and Film and Visual Storytelling.
The only information required for an audition is a completed online application.
All applications must be submitted to Baltimore School for the Arts by Monday, November 22, 2021. All letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be mailed on or about February 25, 2022.
If you have problems using the online application link please direct your questions to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below are the audition instructions. Remember, you can audition for two different art disciplines. However, you can only enroll in one field, even if you are accepted to both programs.
Please understand that these audition instructions are intended for in-person auditions. Should in-person auditions not possible in January of 2022, additional information will be forthcoming. Non-Baltimore City residents who are accepted for admission must pay tuition that is set by the Baltimore City Board of Education. Tuition is currently $10,000 per year, and is subject to change.
Due to Covid, BSA will not be hosting any shadow days during the 2021-2022 school year.
Our optional Shadow Day program enables you to visit art classes and get the inside scoop on what life is like as a BSA student.
