    Faculty Sound & Lighting Instructor

    Natasha Tylea

    Natasha Tylea teaches Stage Design and Production at BSA. She has played brass instruments and bass since the age of 7 and has been welding since the age of 12. Natasha has been a Sound Engineer and Lighting Designer for 25 years in independent music venues throughout NYC, DC and Baltimore and she has been touring internationally for 20 years with music projects and a variety of circuses. Natasha was an underwater welder for over a decade and taught Sculptural Welding and Civil Engineering for Welders at Cooper Union before coming to Baltimore.

    In addition to welding and sound, Natasha is an award winning photographer who has photographed two top 100 album covers, according to Rolling Stone. In whatever free time Natasha finds, usually in the wee hours of morning, Natasha enjoys blacksmithing, resin and silicone casting, writing and drawing. Natasha is the Technical Director for the Meyerhoff Theater at the BMA, the Technical Director at The Ottobar and Lead Engineer/Lighting Designer at The Creative Alliance.
