Annual Giving Campaign
Each year, through its Annual Giving Campaign and Expressions, the Baltimore School for the Arts Foundation raises more than million dollars to support the high school, which receives only 75% of its operating budget from the Baltimore City Public School System. Currently, the Baltimore School for the Arts Foundation is raising money for the 2010-2011 school year. To view BSA’s 2009-2010 Annual Report, please click here.
TWIGS
The BSA Foundation also raises the money for the TWIGS after school arts instruction program and other outreach efforts in the community. Funds for TWIGS are raised a year in advance in order to plan how many children can be admitted at spring auditions. Currently, the BSA Foundation is raising money for the 2011-2012 TWIGS program. Our goal is to raise $500,000, enough to offer free classes in dance, music, visual arts and theatre to about 750 2nd-8th grade Baltimore City children.
Family ArtReach Performance Series
Debuting this year, the BSA is proud to present this series of events designed for families and children. The Family ArtReach Performance Series is made possible by the generous support of Constellation Energy, Covergirl, The Nabit Family, PNC Bank, The Shattuck Family, The Whiting Turner Contracting Company, and WYPR. It is our goal to reach audiences across the city with opportunities in the arts. School Performance Program
BSA offers free matinee performances to elementary and middle school children from public city schools. For many of the children that visit BSA, this will be their first experience at a live performance, and one that can truly be inspiring. Artsource, an educational brochure produced by arts educators to accompany each matinee, will be distributed to teachers and students so they can follow up in the classroom.
