    BSA is Making News!

    These days, it seems every time we open the paper there is a story about a graduate of BSA. We are thrilled about all the accomplishments of our talented alumni!

    Lawrence Gilliard Jr. has a lead on AMC’s hit The Walking Dead.  Read here about his role and hear what he as to say about his alma mater.

    Actor Eric Berryman was featured in The Baltimore Sun with his mentor, theatre department head Donald Hicken, for their work on “Red,” currently at Everyman Theatre.

    Jada Pinkett Smith visited BSA on October 23 for “A Girls Night Out” to benefit the Associated Black Charities. Read about Jada here.

    Carrie Zaruga has been named an “Artist to Watch” by the Country Music Association. Click here to learn more about Carrie.

    It’s just been announced that Tracie Thoms will play one of Annie’s parents in the new film version of the classic hit (produced by Jada and husband Will Smith’s company).

    Sophie Hinderberger was named 2013 Best Actress and Lola Pierson 2013 Best New Playwright by Baltimore’s City Paper. Congrats!

    Jazz musician Mark Gross is part of the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-stars in Broadway’s hot new show After Midnight, which has received rave reviews in The New York Times.

    Katherine Helen Fisher, featured in the “dance play” Einstein on the Beach at the Brooklyn Academy of Music,  is currently performing on America’s Got Talent.

    Courtney Celeste Spears is a regular these days in Dance Spirit MagazineHere she models some modern dance movements.

    Our dancers mastered some of these techniques last year in our performance of Appalachian Spring. It was selected as Baltimore Magazine’s Best Dance Event of 2013.
