BSA Foundation

Leadership

At the founding of the Baltimore School for the Arts, The Board of Overseers was established to preserve the integrity of the BSA’s Resolutions, to set policies and to support and advocate for the school.  The school’s director reports both to the Board of Overseers and to the Baltimore City Public City School System.  Members of the Board are artists, educators, business leaders and parents who share a dedication to the school, its students and the community at large.  To see a list of our Board of Overseers, click here.

The BSA has many passionate and involved volunteers in its supporting organization – Stage One/FANS.  The FANS board was formed in 1981 to be advocates and volunteers in support of the school's mission.  Stage One, BSA's young leadership group, was created in 2000 to cultivate the school's next pool of leaders, advisors and donors.  The two organizations merged in 2009 to form the current organization.   To learn more about Stage One/FANS or about how you can volunteer at the BSA, please click here.

"I had never been in a place, let alone a high school, where everyone is like a big group of friends that support each other day by day as they expand their artistic and academic capabilities."
