Recognition in the National Association for the Advancement in the Arts Young Arts Competition, All-State Band and Orchestra players, and a Disney's American Idol Experience competition winner!  Two students were National Association for the Advancement in the Arts Young Arts Competition finalists and competed in Miami in January: Chandler Johnson/Tenor & India Fields/Soprano. Christen Chiosi received Honorable Mention for Photography.  Merit Awards went to Alana Bowers & Kelsey Delemar/Theatre; Victoria Young/ Photography; Paul Cronan/Visual Arts; Tyrone Page, Jr./Music and in Voice: Rachel Edwards; Adia Evans; Reginald Gravett; Diamond Thomas; Maya Turner and Samantha Pollino.  Selected for the All-State Band and Orchestra are Silvio Guitian and Glen Smith, clarinet; Stefan Palen, euphonium; Daniel Raderman, percussion; Michael Carter, trombone and for the All-State Orchestra: Karyne Beverly, violin. They'll have the opportunity to perform and learn with peers from all over Maryland in late February.  Congrats to sophomore Katie Haught for winning in one of Disney's American Idol Experience competitions held in Orlando -- She's earned a golden ticket to an American Idol regional competition.
